BIRATNAGAR: Pradesh Pramukh of Province no. 1 Prof Dr Govinda Bahadur Tumbahang presented the Bhawani Prasad-Jiva Devi Regmi memorial prize 2075 to editor-in-chief of Udhghos daily Mohan Bhandari here on Friday.
The prize carries a purse of Rs. 41,111 and a letter of citation. The prize was established by Federation of Nepali Journalist, Morang and Bhawani Prasad-Jivadevi Memorial Trust. The prize was founded last year by former RSS journalist Hem Raj Regmi and his brothers in memory of their late parents with a revolving fund of Rs. 500,000.
It is presented annually to a journalist based in Morang and working for more than 15 years in the field of journalism. Speaking on the occasion, Pradesh Pramukh Tumbahang said the media sector has a significant role in maintaining good governance in the country.
