Nepal wins gold, silver in duathlon



POKHARA: Nepal has won a gold and a silver in duathlon in men’s sprint distance category in the ongoing 13th South Asian Games in Pokhara. Likewise, in the women’s category, Nepal won a silver medal.

In a match at Gaurighat, Nepal’s Himal Tamata completed five kilometers running, 20 kilometers cycling and 2.5 kilometers running altogether in 57 minutes 33 seconds, bringing home a gold medal.

Similarly, Nepal’s Laxman Malla finished the race in 59 minutes 13 seconds, winning a silver medal. Sri Lanka’s Ashitha Parera bagged a silver medal by completing the race in 59 minutes 32 seconds.

Likewise, in women’s category, Sri Lanka’s Aranga Dulachhi completed the race in one hour five minutes 58 seconds, winning a gold medal. Nepal’s Bhumi Budamagar won a silver medal by finishing it in one hour eight minutes 58 seconds.

Sri Lanka’s Udaya Kumari won a bronze medal by completing the race in one hour nine minutes nine seconds.
