Identification of all 14 killed in Baglung jeep fall ascertained



BAGLUNG: The identification of all 14 passengers killed in a jeep accident in the district has been established on Tuesday afternoon.

According to police, the deceased are Resham Thapa, Maya Thapa, Basundhara Karki, Sita Karki, Anusa Karki, Mahendra Karki, Bhawi Karki, Bhumi Karki, Mina Basnet, Suchana Karki, Laxmi KC, and Dhan Bahadur Karki of Isma Rural Municipality-5 of Gulmi district, Bhuma Karki of Bardhaghat-1 of Nawalaparasi and Narmaya Khatri of Badigad-7 of Baglung.

The identification of four others killed in the mishap is yet to be ascertained.

The injured are Jeevan Karki of Bardhaghat-2, Himal Karki and Nima KC of Imsa-4 of Gulmi.

The mishap happened when the jeep fell some 350 meters down the road near Badigad village of Baglung this morning.

The ill-fated jeep — Ga 1 Ja 5219 — was heading towards Baglung from Gulmi when it met with an accident, said Nawaraj Bhatta, chief of the District Police Office.

The victims were traveling on the ill-fated jeep to worship their clan deities.
