‘Excited’ Nepal taking on Bhutan in SAG men’s football

KATHMANDU: Nepal is taking on Bhutan in men’s football under the ongoing South Asian Games (SAG) in Kathmandu on Tuesday.

The match will kick-off at 1 pm at the Tripureshwor-based Dashrath Stadium.

Nepal is making a comeback at the stadium after a gap of four years and six months. The national team has not played any game at the venue after the stadium was badly damaged by the 2015 earthquake.

Nepal’s Coach Bal Gopal Maharjan said they are excited about the match.

“The team is excited to play at the stadium after a long hiatus,” Maharjan said, “We will play with an aim to earn a gold medal in the tournament’.

On a match held on Monday, Bangladesh made a winning start to the competition defeating Bhutan. During a pre-match conference, Bhutan’s Coach said they are underdogs.
