KATHMANDU: Nepal Airlines is preparing to operate flights to Narita International Airport in Tokyo from January 2020 after it signed an agreement for ground-handling, fuel and slot.

The national flag carrier’s plan to fly to the airport was hindered after it had failed to get ground handling service. NAC had made preparations to operate Kathmandu-Osaka direct flight from August 29, 2019. But, things failed to materialize.

Currently, it has been operating two flights per week to Osaka, Japan.

According to Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), 29 thousand 817 Japanese tourists came to visit Nepal from Japan in 2018.
