NCP finalizes candidates for by-elections, fields Bidya in Kaski-2

KATHMANDU: Ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has finalized the candidates for by-elections to be held on November 30.

A secretariat meeting of the NCP held in Baluwatar on Sunday evening finalized the candidates for  the by-elections to the House of Representatives, provincial and local levels.

According to the decision, the NCP will field Bidya Bhattarai for the House of Representatives in Kaski Constituency-2.

Similarly, Bimala Oli will contest the election to the member of Provincial Assembly from Dang-3 (B) while Devi Prasad Dhakal will contest the provincial by-election from Bhaktapur-1 (A), according to the decision.

Meanwhile, the NCP has decided to lend support to the candidate of Rastriya Janamorcha in Baglung-2, (B) in provincial elections.

Likewise, the NCP has decided to field Prakash Rai as the candidate for the post of mayor in Dharan Sub-metropolitan City.

The by-election is taking place for a total of 52 seats including a member of the House of Representatives, three provincial members, a mayor, three chiefs and a deputy chief of rural municipalities and 43 ward chairs in 37 districts on November 30.

The Election Commission of Nepal has set November 7 for filing nominations of the candidacies (10 am to 1 pm).
