KATHMANDU: Cardiologist Dr. Bhagwan Koirala has been nominated Chairman of Nepal Medical Council (NMC).

A meeting of Council of Ministers held at prime minister’s residence in Baluwatar on Sunday picked Koirala to the post.

As per the NMC Act, one person from amongst doctors having a minimum of 20 years experience as registered doctors with a master’s degree in medical science is eligible for appointment as Chairman of the regulatory body of the country’s medical sector.
