Five held with contraband from Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: The Narcotic Control Bureau of Nepal Police today has made public five persons, including an Indian national, who arrested in possession of narcotic drugs from Samakhusi and Kalanki in Kathmandu on Wednesday.

The arrested were Bhuwan Adhikari of Pokhara, Hazif Nasim Akhtar Teli of Parsa, Raziya Khatun of Tanahun, Mohammad Shahid Akhtar of Parsa and Josang Liyana from India.

Spokesperson of Bureau, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Basanta Kumar Lama shared that they were arrested with 1.45 kg-methamphetamine, a stimulant that affects the central nervous system while they were dealing in the narcotic drug.

Adhikari and Teli were arrested from Samakhusi while Khatun, Akhtar and Liyana were nabbed from Kalanki, informed SSP Lama.

An investigation has shown that the arrested ones belonged to the same group who were involved in the illegal trade of narcotic drugs. Further investigation into the case was underway, according to the Bureau.
