Around 441,141 apply for local level posts



KATHMANDU: Around 441,141 people have applied for various positions at the local levels.

Public Service Commission (PSC) spokesman Kiran Raj Sharma informed that so many applicants submitted their applications within the stipulated time. The PSC had set July 2 as the deadline to apply.

According to Sharma, while 434,764 have applied in the open category, 103,567 have applied in the women quota. Similarly, 43,326 have applied in the indigenous nationalities quota. A total of 24,090 have applied in Madhesi quota, 3,091 in Dalit quota, 146 in the disabled quota and around 116 in the backward area quota.

The PSC had called for applications to 9,161 positions in some 515 local levels. According to Sharma, a total of Rs 140 million 411 thousand 150 has been collected as revenue from the applicants’ registration.

He informed that the written test would be conducted in the third week of July.
