Monsoon still not fully active: MFD

KATHMANDU: The Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has said that it will take another three to four days for the monsoon to be fully active.

The monsoon in Nepal has not become active in the country as the low-pressure trough is still in central India. Meteorologist Raju Pradhananga informed it will take at least four days for the low-pressure system to move towards Nepal. Delay in monsoon becoming fully active has resulted in rising temperature in the country.

Light or brief rainfall is occurring now due to weak monsoon. He also ruled out any possibility of heavy rain immediately. Kathmandu Valley has witnessed a temperature from 31 to 32.5 degrees Celsius since the last two to three days.

Today’s maximum temperature is 31.8 degrees Celsius.
