NICCI elects new leadership

KATHMANDU: The fifth annual general meeting (AGM) of Nepal-Italy Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI) held today has elected a new leadership led by Navaraj Dhakal. He has been elected unanimously as the new president for a two-year term.

Rajesh Kaji Shrestha has been elected as the committee’s honorary member. Dhruba Kumar Shrestha, Ashok Sherchan, Rajendra Lal Shrestha, Pawan Agrawal, and Manoj Shrestha Bhadel have been elected as senior vice president, vice president, general secretary, treasurer, and secretary respectively, according to a press statement issued by NICCI on Wednesday.

Likewise, the members elected in the new working committee include Anil Das Shrestha, Kamal Raj Bista, Kisan Sunar, Krishna Poudel, Tirtha Rokka, Binod Basnet, Binod Sagtani, Basu Maya Tamang, Bina Pyakurel, Yogesh Bade Shrestha, Sumit Kumar Bansal, Shambhu Kumar Lama, Sushil Jain, Sanjaya Agrawal, Sunil Sharma and Rajendra Baral.

On the occasion, newly elected President Dhakal said that the new team aims to work towards further augmenting the trade relationship between Nepal and Italy by focusing on economic development through associating and on the basis of consensus with all industrialists and entrepreneurs. This, he said, was aimed at promoting the welfare of business communities.
