State 3 enters PM Cup semifinals

KATHMANDU: State 3 has entered the semifinals of the third Prime Minister (PM) Cup one-day men’s cricket tournament as a Group ‘A’ winner.

State 3 booked its semifinals berth after defeating Sudurpaschim State by six wickets in the last group stage match played at the proposed Mulpani International Cricket Ground on Monday.

Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Sudurpaschim set a 155-run target for State 3. State 3 achieved the target in 33.2 over losing four wickets.

Ishan Pandey top-scored for State 3 at 53 runs. Adil Khan and Captain Paras Khadka contributed 33 and 26 runs respectively.

Mahesh Adhikari, Sher Mall, Bikash Agri and Binod Lama of Sudurpaschim took a wicket apiece.

Earlier, Sudurpaschim made 154 runs losing all wickets in 45.1 over with Khadak Bohara, Roshan Adhikari and Naresh Bohara making 40, 27 and 26 runs respectively.

For State 3, Pratish GC and Jitendra Thakuri took two wickets each and Nandan Kumar Yadav and Khadka grabbed a wicket apiece.

State 3 was declared group topper based on run rate after State 3 and APF got equal six points in group matches.
