Biplav cadres attempt to attack police post in Solukhumbu

KATHMANDU: Cadres of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) led by Netra Bikram Chand have attempted to attack  a police post in Solukhumbu district.

A group of 25 to 30 cadres Sunday night tried to attack the post at Chheskam in Mahakulung Rural Municipality-3. However, their attempt did not succeed after the police personnel decamped with the weapons upon receiving tip-off about the Biplav cadres’ plan.

According to media reports, a joint team from Nepal Army and Nepal Police led by DSP Shalikram Sharma Paudel  has left for the incident site in a helicopter.

Chief District Officer of Solukhumbu Narendra Rana Magar, however, dismissed the media reports, but accepted the fact that the activities of the Biplav group are growing in the district.

Seven security personnel stationed at the police post fled with their weapons to a safe place after being tipped off that the Biplav cadres were planning to attack them.

The incident site is 75 kilometers away from the district headquarters Salleri.
