Bad weather hits flights at TIA

KATHMANDU: Domestic flights taking place from the Tribhuvan International Airport were suspended today due to adverse weather. Some inbound airplanes of international flight were also asked to hold, TIA office has stated.

TIA spokesperson Pratap Babu Tiwari said Buddha Air’s planes which had flown towards Nepalgunj and Surkhet from TIA returned to Kathmandu due to bad weather. Similarly, the Shree Airlines plane also returned to Kathmandu.

Among the international flights, an Air Bangla plane had to ‘hold’ for about half an hour. Most of the flights in the western sector from Bhairahawa have been affected. The flights at TIA were affected due to inclement weather.

However, the TIA service returned to normal by 2 pm, Tiwari said.
