SAG 2019: Nepal bags first gold medal

KATHMANDU: Nepal bagged the first gold medal in the ongoing 13th South Asain Games (SAG) held in Kathmandu.

Karate player Mande Kaji Shrestha won the gold medal in the event under the category of  Karate Single Kanta’s performance.

He defeated Pakistani player Niyamtullaha in the final match.

He scored 24points while Niyamtullaha only got 22.8 points.

Similarly, Sri Lanka won the bronze medal.

Earlier, Karate player Chanchala Danuwar won the silver medal in the Karate event.

So far, Nepal has bagged two medals in the tournament.
