Nepalgunj Entrepreneurs say no to donation

NEPALGUNJ: Entrepreneurs of the Industrial Area in Nepalgunj have decided not to give donations to any group, party or organization.

They have made the decision after they were pressed by various forces for a long time to provide donations. Notices are posted at the gates of all industries that bear the information about ‘no donation’.

Entrepreneurs said that various political parties, organizations, and some underground outfits had troubled them by asking donation which forced them to make such a decision.

Nepalgunj Industrial Area Industry Development Association, Banke, had confirmed that the donations were restricted in the area.

President of the association Rajesh Maskey said that it was the collective decision of the entrepreneurs active in the industrial area. “Entrepreneurs have long been troubled by the money-seeking groups and organizations,” he said.

The notice posted at the gates of the industries informs that the entrepreneurs have decided no to give donations to any forces and requests all to not to ask donations and denigrate themselves in the eyes of all.

Nepalgunj Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s President Nanda Lal Baisya said that the association had received many compliant that the entrepreneurs were troubled by donation seeking people and organizations.

He welcomed the decision to paste the ‘no donation’ notice and recommended one and all businesspersons to follow the suit.

The Industrial Area in Nepalgunj is the largest in the western region where more than Rs. 25 billion is invested so far where the private sector has invested Rs. 24.50 billion and the government Rs. 960 million.

Industrialists in the area have been gradually increasing the investment. There are 30 industries in operation in the area that includes plastic pipes, electric cable, plywood, copper, brass, aluminum, drinking water, and water supply materials.
