Five gamblers land in police net

CHITWAN: Police have arrested five gamblers along with Rs 179,650 cash in stake in the district.

Acting on a tip-off that the gambling was underway in Madi Municipality-6, a squad of police deployed from Area Police Office, Madi raided the gambling den rounded up them with the cash and other paraphernalia on Friday night.

DSP Eknarayan Koirala, spokesperson of the District Police Office, Chitwan, said they are investigating the case by keeping the arrested at the police custody.

They will be charged under the Gambling Act, 2020, said police.
