BNP builds canopy bridges to protect animals

BANKE: The Banke National Park (BNP) has constructed canopy (overhead) bridges along the highway area in Banke for the convenience of tree-dwelling animals such as monkey and squirrel.

This has been aimed at preventing the animals from meeting with accidents in their course of movement along the highway.

Information Officer at the BNP, Bishnu Prasad Thapaliya informed that the canopy bridges have been constructed by using jute and silk threads and tiny wooden poles at six different locations along the highway area covered by the park.

Likewise, a camera trapping system has been installed to track the movements of the animals via the canopy bridges.
