KATHMANDU: Police have arrested two people with illegal gold at Chabahil.

Plainclothes police deployed from Metropolitan Police Circle, Kirtipur arrested 40-year-old Dhruba Bahadur Darlami of Nawalparasi and Nir Bahadur Pariyar of Baglung on Tuesday evening.

DSP Chhedulal Kamati arrested them while they were bringing gold from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).

“We have arrested them with the gold brought from via TIA,” said Kamati

Police have seized 16 tolas and 14 lals of gold from their possession. The seized gold is priced at Rs 1.2 million, said police.

The MPPC said the arrested have been sent to the revenue office for investigation.
