Court quashes contempt of court case against Rabi Lamichhane

KANCHANPUR: Kanchanpur District Court on Monday quashed a contempt of court case filed against Television host Rabi Lamichhane.

A single bench of Judge Gopal Prasad Bastola quashed the case.

A contempt of court case was filed against Lamichhane at the court for disrespecting the court through his television program ‘Sidha Kura Janatasanga’.

One Khadka Bista had filed the case for disrespecting the court by pointing Dilip Singh Bista as a culprit of the Nirmala rape and murder case. Bista’s brother Khadka had lodged the contempt of court case as Dilip Singh was acquitted by the court.

During the program, expelled DSP Angur GC had claimed Dilip Singh to be the culprit. The complaint has further claimed that Lamichhane too had used a derogatory word against Dilip Singh branding him as a rapist.
