KATHMANDU: The government is spending a huge amount of money towards the end of the existing fiscal year violating the acts and parliamentary committee’s direction. Over 4.5 billion rupees is being spent on a daily basis, according to the expenditure records of June 16 to 30.

Finance Committee of the Parliament had directed the government not to send more than 10 percent of the total budget. However, the the government has already spent over 5.21 percent in the last two weeks.

On June 16, the government spent Rs 2,593,400,000, Rs 7,144,700,000 on June 25 and Rs 10,367,200,000 on June 30.
