Over 2500 senior citizens yet to receive elderly allowance

SALYAN: More than 2,500 senior citizens of Bangad Kupinde municipality of Salyan district have not yet received elderly citizen’s allowance for the past six months.

Puran Singh, 80, among other benificiaries, is facing difficulties to buy medicines due to lack of money.

The government has not released budget for the allowances after the chief administrative officer was transferred elsewhere six months ago, according to mayor Gobinda Pun.

He assured of distributing the allowances at the earliest since the new chief administrative officer has taken office.
