Shrestha leads in NBA vote count

KATHMANDU: Chandeshwor Shrestha, President’s candidate from Progressive, professional and Inclusive Group in Nepal Bar Association (NBA) election, an umbrella organization of legal practitioners, is leading the vote count.

The election of Association for new leadership had taken place across the nation on March 30.

Out of 502 votes counted till 1:20 pm today, Shrestha has received 352 votes. Similarly, Shrestha’s closest rival Sunil Kumar Pokharel from Democratic Group has got 258 votes, said Chief Election officer, Damodar Khadka.

Similarly, Surendra Bahadur Thapa, General Secretary candidate from Progressive Group, has acquired 336 votes while his closet rival, Leelamani Poudel from Democratic Group received 258 votes.

The vote counting has been taking place from 5:00 pm on Monday. Out of 10,313 voters from across the nation, 8329 had cast votes.
