Bidya Bhattarai thanks voters after election victory



KASKI: Newly-elected lawmaker from Kaski-2 Bidya Bhattarai has thanked her voters who secured her victory in the by-polls.

Bhattarai took to Twitter thanking and extending congratulations to all the voters of the constituency.

“I will never betray you. My coming projects and destination will be based on Rabindra’s dream and project and guiding principle of the party,” she said in a tweet after the election victory.

Bhattarai was elected House of Representative member securing 24,394 votes, beating her closest rival of Nepali Congress Khem Raj Paudel who got 15,991 votes.

Kaski Constituency 2 had been vacant after late Minister Rabindra Adhikari had died in a helicopter crash. Bhattarai is the wife of the late leader.
