Results of 44 out of 52 places out: NCP wins in 25, NC in 12



KATHMANDU: The ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has won most of the places in the by-elections held to elect 52 vacant posts.

As per the latest update, the results of 44 places have been made public.

The ruling party has won in 25 places. The main opposition Nepali Congress has won in 12 places, Samajwadi Party Nepal has won in four places and Rastriya Janata Party has been victorious in three places.

According to Election Commission (EC), NCP won a House of Representative member in Kaski-2.

Likewise, the Nepali Congress candidate has been elected state assembly member in Bhaktapur-1(A). Likewise, NCP candidates have been elected rural municipalities chairman in Makalu of Sankhuwasabha and vice-chairman in Kharupunath of Humla.

Results for 40 ward chairmen out of 43 have been made public till now. As per the results, NCP has won in 22 places, NC in 11, Samajwadi in four places and RJP in three places. An independent candidate has been elected in Pyuthan.

Counting of votes for State Assembly members in Dang and Baglung is underway.

In the context of local levels, vote counting is underway in Dharan Sub Metropolitan City, Pipara of Mahottari and Falgunanda of Panchthar.
