SANKHUWASABHA: Tej Bahadur Pokharel of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has been elected Chairman in Makalu Rural Municipality of the district.

Pokharel got 3,018 votes as his rival Bhiman Pun Magar of Nepali Congress got 2,016 votes.

NCP’s Khadka Katuwal was elected chairman in the earlier election. He was killed in a jeep accident.
