NCP’s Bidya Bhattarai takes lead with 14, 879 votes in Kaski-2

KASKI: Bidya Bhattarai, candidate for the member to the House of Representatives from the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has taken lead with a wide margin of votes in Kaski-2.

According to the latest vote-count results, Bhattarai has obtained 14, 879 votes.

Her closest rival of Nepali Congress Khem Raj Paudel has got 7,850 votes.

Bhattarai is ahead of Paudel with 7,023 votes. Of the total 11 wards in Karki-2, the vote-count of five wards has been completed.

With the vote-count of wards no. 33, 21, 20 and 17 and 16 over, the vote count of ward no. 15 is underway, currently.

Kaski Constituency 2 had been vacant after late Minister Rabindra Adhikari had died in a helicopter crash.

In the previous election, Adhikari had defeated Nepali Congress candidate Debraj Chalise by 8, 546 votes.

Adhikari had secured 27, 207 votes while Chalise had obtained 18, 661 votes.
