Ex-lawmaker Mahato killed in road accident

JANAKPUR: Former lawmaker Ram Lakhan Mahato died in a road accident in the district on Friday.

According to police, Mahato, 60, riding a cycle, died after he was hit by a bus, Ba 5 Kha 885, at Mithila Municipality-2, Bishwokarmachowk.

Mahato was elected as a lawmaker from the then CPN (UML) in 2051 BS.

He breathed his last while undergoing treatment, police said, adding they have arrested the driver and impounded the vehicle.
