TIA to remain shut for 7 hours daily from today

KATHMANDU: The Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) will shut down for seven hours daily starting on Sunday as a part of the second phase of the upgradation works of the country’s only international airport.

According to TIA Managing Director Raj Kumar Chhetri, the airport will shut down all operation from 11:30 pm to 6 am in the morning.

However, the airport will open for half an hour three days a week for a Japan flight of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC).

The upgradation works will be suspended from 2 am to 2:30 am on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday to facilitate the national flag carrier’s flight to Osaka, Japan.

The second phase of upgradation works is expected to complete on December last.
