121 suspension bridges constructed



KATHMANDU: A total of 121 suspension bridges have been constructed replacing the wired river crossings in different parts of the country.

The government began the project of replacing the wired river crossings by suspension bridges three years ago.  Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had committed to replacing them in his first premiership three years ago and the commitment is getting materialized.

According to Director General of Department of Local Infrastructures Ram Chandra Shrestha, the construction of suspension bridges has been intensified across the country.
