Afghan army battle Taliban fighters



KABUL: Afghan security forces battled Taliban gunmen who attacked a building in the Afghan capital, Kabul on Monday after an explosion that injured around 100 people, international media reports have said.

Gunfire and explosions were heard in the area where three gunmen entered a building near the defense ministry in Kabul.

Afghan forces cordoned off the area and rescued over 200 people so far, according to the Interior Ministry.

The Taliban have claimed responsibility for the explosion. (Agencies)
