KATHMANDU: Heavy rainfall with storms lashed out Kathmandu on Saturday evening with people running for a cover.

The Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) had predicted rainfall for Saturday in Kathmandu Valley.

The met office says the weather pattern has been attributed to the moisture-laden wind from the Bay of Bengal as well as the low atmospheric pressure formed in the eastern area.

MFD has forecasted partly to generally cloudy weather throughout the country for tonight with thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds/lightning possible at some places of the western region and at a few places of the eastern and central regions.
