NEW DELHI: Regional groups SAARC and BIMSTEC are significant regional blocks and they facilitate greater cooperation among member nations. Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirsena who visited India to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi said so on Friday.
‘Regional cooperation between the countries leads to better relations and it strengthens trade and economic relations. Both the regional organisations SAARC and BIMSTEC are important for us’, The Sri Lankan President added.
He emphasized that Sri Lanka has a neutral foreign policy and maintains friendly relations with with all the countries. (Agencies)
