Vote count begins in NBA elections



KATHMANDU: The counting of votes for the new leadership of Nepal Bar Association (NBA), an umbrella organization of legal practitioners, has begun on Monday evening.

The vote count began at the NBA office from 5:00 pm, said chief election officer, Damodar Khadka. The count began after ballot boxes from 35 polling centers were reached in the capital today itself.

Senior Advocate Chandeshwar Shrestha from Progressive, Professional and Inclusive Group and Advocate Sunil Pokharel from Democratic Group are vying for the new leadership.

Out of 10,313 voters across the nation, 8,329 have cast their votes in the election. It will take around four days to complete the counting, said Khadka.
