Nepal Basketball League to kick off April 20



KATHMANDU: Nepal Basketball League will be starting from the third week of April.

Organizing a press meet on Monday organizer Play for Deprived Children Nepal (PDCN) informed that the competition will kick off on April 20.

Eight profession clubs will compete in the competition that will run for 55 days.

Team of Golden Gate International College, Nepal Police Club, The Times International College, Budhanilkantha Municipality Basketball Club, Kirtipur Basketball Team, South Siders Basketball Club and Royal Basketball Club will be participating be vying for the title.

Teams will play two games each with each other on home and away. Top four teams will be qualified for the playoff after two rounds of league.

PSDN Chairman Arun Karki said the tournament will be an opportunity for Nepali players as only few basketball tournaments are organized in the country.

The winning team will be receiving a cash prize of Rs 200,000 while runner-up will be getting Rs 100,000 in cash.
