Land mafias capture 230 bighas of land in Sunsari

KATHMANDU: Land mafias have captured as many as 230 bighas of land belonging to the Nepal government in Srilanka Tappu (island)  in  Sunsari district.

They have captured a huge amount of land in cahoots with the government officials along the course of the Sapta Koshi river in Barahakshetra Municipality-6. According a report in Kantipur daily, the land mafias tilled the land from March 27 to 30.

They threatened the locals when they protested the move with the help of police personnel.
