KATHMANDU: Nepal on Thursday reported 156 new COVID-19 cases. With this, the number of coronavirus positive cases has reached 1,042 in the country.
Among the infected, 940 are male and 102 female, Dr. Bikash Devkota said in a regular press briefing on Thursday.
Among those infected, 29 are from Dhanusha, 25 from Jhapa, 17 from Mahottari, 13 from Surkhet, 14 from Saptari, seven from Sarlahi, six from Siraha, 20 from Rautahat, two from Dolakha, 8 from Dailekh, three from Syangja, one from Darchula, one from Hetauda, one from Solukhumbu, one from Bajhang, one from Nawalpur, 3 from Bardiya, one from Banke, two from Kailali, according to the Ministry of Health.
One person from Lalitpur has died, Spokesperson Dr. Bikash Devkota said.
The total number of positive cases in Province-2 has reached 400 as of today.
Likewise, four new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in Gandaki Pradesh. With this, the number of coronavirus positive cases has reached 16 in the province.
Likewise, Sudhurpaschim Province reported three new COVID-19 cases. Two persons from Kailai and one from Darchula have tested positive for coronavirus.
With this, the total number of coronavirus cases in the province has reached 20. Likewise, 12 persons have returned home after being discharged from hospitals.
Earlier on Wednesday, 114 new COVID-19 cases were reported taking the number of coronavirus positive cases to 886.
Meanwhile, 187 people have been discharged from various hospital after recovery so far.
Coronavirus has been spread to 47 of the 77 districts of the country as of Thursday.
The State-5 has the highest number of COVID-19 infected people. As many as 365 people have tested positive for the virus in nine districts of the State.
The Sudur Paschim State has the lowest number of infected people with 17 in its five districts, the health ministry sources said.
Likewise, the State-1 has 103 infected in its seven districts followed by 324 in State 2; 39 in Bagmati State; 16 in Gandaki State and 25 in Karnali State.
Likewise, as many as 86,097 people are in different quarantines, and 850 are in isolation across the country.
So far, the country has reported five deaths — a 25-year-old man from Banke, a 29-year-old woman from Sindhupalchowk, a 41-year-old man from Gulmi, a 70-year-old man from Bara, and a 57-year-old man from Lalitpur.
Dr. Devkota also confirmed the death of the person who died on Wednesday.
