Bollywood actress Urmila Matondkar to contest polls



MUMBAI: Bollywood actress Urmila Matondkar will contest for the Mumbai North Lok Sabha from Congress, it was announced on Friday.

The Congress’ Central Election Committee took a decision to that regard today. She will contest the polls against her main rival, sitting Bharatiya Janata Party MP Gopal Shetty.

Matondkar, 45, who shot to fame as a child star in “Masoom” (1983), was welcomed to the party fold on Wednesday by Congress President Rahul Gandhi and other top leaders.
