Death toll climbs to 17, 971 in Brazil with 1,118 new deaths



KATHMANDU: Brazil has witnessed a surge in the deaths of people from Coronavirus of late. According to Worldometer, the death toll has reached 17, 971 after 1,118 died in the last 24 hours.

With 16, 260 new cases, the number of infection cases has surged to 271, 628 as of Wednesday morning.

Currently, 146, 863 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country, of which 8, 318 are critical. Meanwhile, 106, 794 have recovered after treatment.

Broke out in Wuhan City of China last December, the deadly virus has spread to 213 countries including two international conveyances across the world, killing 324,371 and infecting 4,980,  783 people as of Wednesday morning.
