Newly-infected people in Banke are India returnees

KATHMANDU: It has been found that 47 people confirmed to be infected with coronavirus in Banke on Monday are in quarantines after recent arriving from India.

According to Chief of Bheri Hospital Dr. Prakash Bahadur Thapa, the newly-infected had recently returned to Nepal from India.

According to Dr. Thapa, the infection was confirmed while testing samples taken from people in three quarantines at Narainapur Rural Municipality.

Samples of 263 people from three quarantine sites managed by the rural municipality were collected and brought to the laboratory of Bheri Hospital for testing.

The coronavirus infected people have been kept in isolation of Sushil Koirala Prakhar Cancer Hospital under the management of Bheri Hospital in Nepalgunj.

The hospital with 40 isolation beds has already 26 people with coronavirus infection.
