Woman who died of coronavirus had stayed in Tokha



KATHMANDU: It has been found that the woman who died of coronavirus used to live in Tokha, Kathmandu for a routine checkup during pregnancy.

The woman hailing from Barhabise Municipality-9, Ramche of Sindhupalchowk was staying in a rented room in Tokha Municipality-9 after the government announced the lockdown.

According to a relative, she had walked from Gongabu to the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj on May 5 and gave birth the next day.

It is said that she stayed at her relatives in Tokha, Kathmandu before going to Sindhupalchowk on an ambulance. The house in Tokha where she had stayed has also been sealed on Saturday night.

She was suffering from a fever when she was taken to Sindhupalchowk.

Everyone assumed the reason for fever as delivery. Then, she was taken to a primary health center near her home after fever lasted for two more days.

The health center had referred her to Dhulikhel Hospital and she died on the way to the hospital.

Some areas in Tokha Municipality sealed

Some areas of Tokha Municipality-9 have been sealed after it was found that the woman had lived in the municipality after being discharged from the hospital.

Chief of Tokha Municipality Prakash Adhikari informed that a certain part of the ward has been sealed.
