Dhulikhel Hospital sealed following patient’s death

KATHMANDU: Dhulikhel Hospital has been sealed after a woman died while undergoing treatment at the hospital. She had respiratory complications.

According to Dr. Suman Tamrakar, Spokesperson of the hospital, a post-natal mother died in the course of treatment at the hospital on Friday morning.

A woman from Bahrabise had been hospitalized on Thursday after she complained of respiratory problems.

According to the doctor she had been discharged from TU Teaching Hospital 10 days ago after delivering a child.

The post-natal mother was being treated in isolation as she was suffering from respiratory complications.

When asked about the reason behind her death, Tamrakar said, “We are not permitted to release the Coronavirus report. The lab will send it confidentially to the Ministry of Health and Population.”

Meanwhile, the hospital has been sealed following the suspicion of coronavirus behind the death of the woman. It is learnt that the newborn is at the hospital after the death of its mother.

With the Coronavirus  pandemic wreaking havoc across the world, it has not spared Nepal, too. The number of infection cases has reached 276 after nine new cases were reported today.

A total of 240 Coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country while 36 have returned home after recovery.
