NCP Secretariat discusses govt’s policy and programs

KATHMANDU: A Secretariat meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) discussed the government’s policy and programs that the government is presenting this afternoon.

The meeting held at Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar basically dwelt on the policy and programs of the government for the fiscal year 2020/21, NCP Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha said.

The government is presenting the government’s policies and programs for the upcoming fiscal year at 4 PM on Friday.

A parliament meeting has been called at 4 pm for this purpose.

President Bidya Bhandari will present the policy and program of the government in the joint meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) and National Assembly.

All the parliamentarians have been asked to attend the meeting and be seated in the meeting by 3:45 pm on Friday. They have been asked to put on decent apparel for the event.

All safety protocols such as physical distancing, usage of safety gear such as mask and sanitization among others have been observed in the meeting hall to prevent the spread of the COVID-19.

There are 275 members in HoR and 59 in the National Assembly. A total of 29 distinguished guests have been invited at the event including the President, the Vice-President, Chief of the constitutional bodies and chiefs of security agencies among others.

The Heads of the foreign diplomatic missions, as well as private sectors, have not been invited this year in view of the prospect of COVID-19 transmission.

The Nepal Communist Party-led government is going to launch the policy and policies for the third time. Economic growth will be high in priority in the policy and program to be launched and implemented in the new fiscal year.

Furthermore, the policy and program of the government will also incorporate a program that will address the issues emanated from the COVID-19.

Today’s Secretariat meeting, however, did not fix the date for the meeting of the party’s Standing Committee which has been on hold for a long time.
