IAAF warns NAA of suspension

KATHMANDU: The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) warned the Nepal Athletics Association (NAA) that it would suspend the NAA if the latter violated the IAAF statute by failing to hold its elections on time.

The IAAF said NAA violated the IAAF statute by failing to conduct its elections on time. “The NAA will be suspended and barred from participating in any international, and regional sports competitions,” it said.

NAA President Rajib Bikram Sah, however, said they would hold the elections soon.

NAA is entangled in internal disputes thus failing to hold elections on time.
