Ex-Gurkha armyman dies of coronavirus in UK

LONDON: A former Gurkha armyman has died of coronavirus on Saturday.

Karna Bahadur Rai, 77, had been admitted to the Maidstone Hospital 10 days ago after complaining of respiratory problems.

He died during treatment, said Spokesperson at the Nepali Embassy in London, Sharad Raj Aran.

A permanent resident of Mauwakhola in Taplejung, Nepal, Rai had been living at Maidstone, the UK for the past three years with his wife and two children.

This takes the death toll of Nepalis who died of coronavirus in the UK to 45.
