Baburam Bhattarai demands PM Oli’s resignation

KATHMANDU: Federal Chairman of Samajwadi Party Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has demanded the resignation of Prime Minister KP Oli stating that he was involved in an attempt to divide a party by abducting a lawmaker.

“The body dilapidated by diseases should be given rest,” Bhattarai told the first meeting of the budget session on Friday, “You (PM Oli) have to resign to save this democracy and your own image.”

The former prime minister was of the opinion that the involvement of the country’s executive head in splitting a party and capturing constitutional bodies was a threat to democracy.

“A message has been sent out that the executive leadership of our country can split the party and capture the constitutional bodies,” he said, “This is not a good sign for democracy. Why was the ordinance to split the party brought? Why did they try to break the constitutional system? This is very alarming. “
