Man killed in valley car-motorbike collision



KATHMANDU: A man died in a car-motorcycle collision in the Kathmandu Valley on Friday morning.

The deceased has been identified as motorcyclist Tika Raj Gelal of Belbari in Morang district.

Critically injured Gelal died while undergoing treatment at Kalanki -National Hospital, according to police.

The accident took place when the motorcycle, Ba 72 Pa 8172, Gelal was riding collided head-on with a car Ba 21 Cha 4347 near Ravibhawan, Kathmandu this morning.

The police said the motorbike which was heading to Kalanki from Kalimati lost control and happened to strike the car on the opposite lane.

Meanwhile, police have taken car driver Col. Shekar Jung Bahadur Rana from Syuchatar, under control.

Police said they are investigating the case.
