President Bhandari extends Ubhauli greetings



KATHMANDU: President Bidya Bhandari has extended greetings to all the Kirant people including Rai, Limbu, Sunuwar and Yakhkha living in the country and abroad on the occasion of Ubhauli (Sakela) festival.

President Bhandari has expressed hope that cultural festivals like Sakela which keeps a close association with seasons will bolster social harmony and good will among various castes and communities in the country and lead them towards the sustainable development.

Meanwhile, Bhandari has urged all the concerned to celebrate the festival by maintaining social distancing as per the instructions of the government during the lockdown.

Bhandari wished that the Ubhauli festival will consolidate solidarity among the Nepali people and encourage them towards building a prosperous and civilized society.
