House panel directs govt to prepare for bringing Nepalis from abroad

KATHMANDU: A Parliamentary Committee has drawn the attention of the government to start immediate preparations to bring the Nepali citizens who have been stranded and have lost their jobs in foreign lands due to COVID-19.

The Committee on Law, Justice and Human Rights of the House of Representatives said that the government can’t say that it will not allow Nepalis living abroad to come and should start preparations to bring them immediately.

At a meeting of the committee held on Tuesday, Chairman Krishna Bhakta Pokhrel said, “We are not asking the government to bring millions of people who are stranded abroad immediately. But, the government should do the pre-preparation work.”
