Three arrested  for allegedly poaching wildlife



SARLAHI: Three people have been arrested here for allegedly opting for hunting wild animals. There were arrested from the Shankapur jungle in Bagmati municipality-4, Sarlahi.

The accused are Chandra Bahadur Blon of Bagmati municipality-4, Sandesh Moktan, and Bhim Bahadur Dimdum of Bagmati municipality-2. A team from the Sub Division Forest Office, Murtiya caught them red-handed while fixing traps for wild beasts.

Other members of the team had managed to escape the arrest. The squad confiscated a huge cache of devices meant for entrapping animals and a motorcycle ( Ba 70 Pa 3578) from the site.

The arrested have been kept at the Sub Division Forest Office for further investigations.

Locals complained that the cases of wildlife poaching are on the rise in the district during the coronavirus lockdown. A few days ago, two people were injured in a shooting targeted to kill the wildlife.
